Dr. M. Niaounakis is a senior patent examiner at the European Patent Office in the Hague, the Netherlands. He holds a B.Sc. Degree in Physics from the National University of Athens, a M.Sc. In Polymer Science and Technology from the University of Manchester (UMIST) and a Ph.D. in Physics of Polymers and Composite Materials from the National Technical University of Athens (EMP). His research activities include post-treatment of polymers (recycling, effect of radiation) and dendritic polymers. In recent years his research interests have focused on environmental radioactivity and agricultural wastewater treatment. He has several publications in referred journals.
